What EFAR IS

The EFAR (Emergency First Aid Responder) system is an adaptable, low-cost and scalable prehospital emergency care system designed specifically for communities in low and middle-income countries. Using an innovative model that gives communities ownership and empowerment over their own emergency care, the EFAR system is also designed to be integrated with existing healthcare structures, and can be used to support an existing EMS. Contact us if you're interested in the system!

How it works

1. An health organisation adopts the EFAR system

EMS, Ministry of Health, Health Department, Hospital, or anyone willing and able.

2. The organisation partners with and guides communities to adopt and implement EFAR into their local infrastructure
Communities, partnered with the organisation, use their local expertise to adapt and manage their own emergency first responder care!

3. Trained, local volunteers respond to emergencies and care for patients
As the EFARs are community residents already embedded in their communities, they are in a unique position to provide expedited care to an injured or acutely ill patient that might otherwise be without immediate care, eventually transporting the patients or handing them off to ambulances, if available.

4. The EFAR system grows and formalizes

The EFAR system is designed to grow with the community and the health organisation, as both develop!
